Ontario Government Announces New Restrictions Amid Surge in Covid-19 Cases

The Ontario government just announced additional restrictions aimed at limiting surging covid-19 cases.

Effective 12:01 a.m. on April 17, outdoor gatherings with people outside a person’s household will be prohibited. Religious gatherings, wedding, and funerals will be limited to 10 people.

In addition, all non-essential construction will be shut down. Outdoor playgrounds and recreational amenities are also restricted.

Police have also been granted enhanced powers to stop any person and ask for the person’s home address and reasons for not being at home.

The announcement may affect construction projects in condominium buildings and townhouses. However, the Regulations with the full list of restrictions and exceptions have not yet been released. We will provide an update when additional details are available.
